What to expect

We work to turn what you may fear would be the worst part of your week into what we believe can be a very pleasant part of your day.

For most patients, your initial visit to UVillage Endodontics is a chance for you to get to know us, and us you -- and for us to review your current dental situation. We add our own specialized examination and review the background your dentist may have sent us, and then provide you with an honest and informed assessment.

We’ll make recommendations so that together we can decide on your best treatment options.

Frequently asked...

Q: Do you save the tooth or replace it?

A: Our specialty is saving teeth, often from the inside out. We clean and shape the inside of a damaged or infected tooth and seal the space. Repaired teeth function just like any other.

Q: Does root canal treatment require surgery?

A: Advances in endodontics allow us to save many teeth, the majority of the time without surgery. We will discuss options with you. We generally suggest the least invasive treatment possible, matched to your unique and individual needs.

Q: How will the procedure feel?

A: Modern root canal treatment is very similar to having a routine filling, and usually can be completed without discomfort in one or two appointments. We’ll let you know what to expect before we begin and keep you informed with as much or as little detail as you want as we care for you.

Q: Is there anything I should bring with me?

A: If you like, you can bring music on your smartphone, iPod or other device to listen to during your treatment. And please bring your dental insurance card, your ID and list of any medications you may be taking.

Q: Is it OK to eat anything before my appointment?

A: Yes, feel free to eat before your treatment; we don’t want you getting hungry!
